Syrian state media outlet Al-Ikhbariya reported that forces from the Syrian Ministry of Interior have arrested a former military officer of the Assad regime named “Mohammad Imad Mahrez,” who had served as a guard and official at Sednaya Prison since 2015.
Sources, citing the Syrian Interior Ministry, stated that he is responsible for the atrocities committed at Sednaya Prison and that judicial authorities will make a decision regarding his case.
It is worth noting that during the Bashar al-Assad regime, thousands of Syrian citizens were subjected to severe torture at Sednaya Prison, and many of them lost their lives.
