In Afghan politics, the Durand Line has never been a simple border issue; it has always been considered one of the determining lines of the country’s political independence. For this reason, no Afghan government in the past century has been willing to accept it as an official border. The Durand Line is not just a simple geographical boundary; it is a historical and identity line, and any stance taken on it inevitably sends a significant political message both inside and outside Afghanistan.

In such circumstances, the recent developments in the relations between Pakistan and certain circles known as “Resistance” have attracted the attention of many political observers; a development that can no longer be interpreted merely within the framework of usual political contacts, but rather shows signs of a gradual and contemplative process. Among these developments, the role of Mohammad Mohaqiq, as the head of the Political Committee of the Resistance Council, has become more prominent than others, especially when his recent stances are considered together.

Mohaqqiq, some time ago, right after more than four hundred people from the addicted class were martyred by the bloodthirsty forces of the Pakistani regime, sent a message of gratitude to Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan. This action, in the political landscape of Afghanistan, cannot be considered a simple; because under such circumstances, sending a message of appreciation to the commander of this military establishment, alongside the disrespect to the pure blood of the victims of the Omid Hospital, also conveys the message that the defeated figures of Afghanistan have taken a very disgraceful path of dealing with Pakistan to gain power.

Continuing along this issue, the proposal to recognize the Durand Line by the Mohaqqiq gains greater political significance; because this stance is no longer considered a separate opinion, but rather interpretable along the same path: the path of selling land, selling the homeland, selling values, and selling conscience.

Pakistan has always tried to transform the Durand issue from an unresolved historical matter to a settled political one over the past decades; however, no Afghan government has accepted such a stance. In such circumstances, the proposal of this issue by a member of the leadership of the Resistance Council clearly demonstrates their sinister intentions and unclean nature toward Afghanistan.

The recent stances of the head of the Political Committee of the Resistance Council indicate a deep deal between the figures opposing the Islamic government of Afghanistan and Pakistan; a deal in which values have been put on the negotiating table for a dangerous conspiracy against the Afghan government.

But the reactions and stances of the Afghan people against this sinister decision have proven that such conspiracies will never succeed and will have regretful consequences for the architects of these deals and plots; because the Afghan people will never allow the slaves of Pakistan to sell their land to Pakistan and decide their fate.

Rather, any decision-making on fundamental issues, including the Durand Line, is the inalienable right of the people of Afghanistan, and any deal regarding it, by any faction or traitor, will face the resolute determination and strong fist of the Afghan people, ultimately leading to the failure of nefarious schemes and the humiliation of the traders.
