After the fall of the republican regime in Afghanistan, almost all former officials of the republic, as well as those close to the US and the West, accused Ashraf Ghani of being the main cause of the republic’s collapse. This series of accusations and attempts to evade responsibility continues. Whenever any issue arises regarding Afghanistan, they direct taunts and challenging remarks at Ashraf Ghani, as if their government brought down Ashraf Ghani. This group of people were once almost all Ashraf Ghani’s officials and, in common parlance, disloyal companions.
When they were in power, they had seats. They were getting American dollars and building their prestige. At that time, they would give Ghani various and grand titles, they would flatter him in various ways to stay in power, and they would call black white and white black to please him. They called themselves the closest sympathizers, friends, and team members of Ashraf Ghani, but when the republic fell and this team lost their positions, power, and prestige, everything turned upside down.
The closest people in Ashraf Ghani’s circle, cabinet ministers, and lawyers still accuse him of treason, lies, bias, betrayal, and the deliberate collapse of the republic, even though everything was fine during their time in power. The rich and most of the officials of the previous republic were neck-deep in treachery, betrayal, and the shedding of Afghan blood. They were ready for any deal to continue their illegitimate and shaky rule, and they proved all of this.
Public hatred towards Ashraf Ghani, those around him, cabinet members, and the system as a whole was at its peak. The majority of cabinet and government members were major corrupt individuals, mafia figures, warlords, and their sons or family members. However, it is interesting that today, each of them calls themselves innocent and blames Ashraf Ghani for every wrongdoing. The situation is the same for systems and governments created for foreigners and foreign interests. When it comes to benefits, money, and privileges, everyone seems to think they are the most deserving, but when it comes to responsibility, everyone leaves the field and blames each other.
Almost all of Ghani’s cabinet ministers, officials, and parliamentarians were involved in major corruption, oppression, atrocities, and crimes, seizing land, beating, imprisoning, and killing people. Each of them tried harder than the others to maintain the American presence, they auctioned off values and were ready for any dirty deal or agreement to protect their personal interests, but they have all now regretted these past misdeeds and present themselves as innocent, free from any sin.
It is true that Ashraf Ghani, as the head of the fallen republic, was responsible for many of his mistakes, betrayals, and treasons. However, the people and history will never forget Ashraf Ghani and, in general, the betrayals, treasons, atrocities, corruption, oppression, and usurpations of the republic’s officials. All of their dark deeds are recorded in minds and history, and future generations will make their judgments about them. Another major misconduct of Ashraf Ghani’s officials is that they betray and are disloyal to their leader and also blame their mistakes on him. However, history and the Afghan people saw everything with open eyes and will make their true judgment about everyone, and will not forgive anyone’s treachery and betrayal!
