Since the start of his election campaign, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that Bagram Air and Military Base in Afghanistan holds significant strategic value and that he will try to regain control of it. He has repeatedly made this statement since then, but he has never revealed how he will capture this airbase. Why did they leave, and what would the cost of capturing this base be for them? And who agrees with him that he should station his troops there again?
Since his first term, the current US president has frequently been the subject of media headlines due to his false claims, boasting, unrealistic promises, and lies. The Washington Post once compiled a list of his past falsehoods and boasts, which numbered in the thousands. This time, he also made numerous claims and promises before and after assuming power, which are now nothing but lies and disgrace. Trump claimed he would end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours of taking office. Nearly a year into his presidency, the war in Ukraine has only become bloodier.
He claimed Canada’s annexation of his land, which was ridiculed, then spoke of annexing Greenland, where he was also ridiculed by the Danes and Europeans. He then promised to expel Palestinians from their lands and build a modern city there within a few days, but he was also ridiculed there. He made many other such grand promises and claims, but none of them were realized, and he was ridiculed in almost every one.
Now, the issue of Bagram Air and Military Base is once again on his lips, which he has been murmuring about for several days, presenting himself as serious about it. It’s interesting that some of these escaped and fallen puppets are applauding and happy about Trump’s empty words and hollow promises. Those who rushed to their aid during the American invasion in 2001 are now happy, as if those times will return and they will shed the blood of their nation and people alongside the Americans in Afghanistan.
For those who, unfortunately, value neither their land, their religion, their culture, their people, nor Islamic and authentic Afghan values even as much as a hair, they are prepared to make any kind of deal with anyone over Afghanistan and its people, just as long as a few coins go into their pockets. These people are the leader of the movement, Dostum, the leader of the resistance group, members of the leadership, and so on. They are the people who served America for twenty years, then they were left on the battlefield, and now they have once again welcomed American friendship.
They are so fallen and weak that they are even happy and applaud the empty promises and lies of a shaky and powerless person like Trump, and since yesterday they have been spreading the news that Bagram is being given to the Americans in exchange for money. First of all, the current regime’s and Afghans’ overall stance on the capture and handling of Bagram is as clear as the sun. If they could have negotiated over Bagram, why would they have fought for twenty years? Why did they make such great sacrifices? The matter of dealing and surrendering is absolutely impossible, and every Muslim and honorable Afghan is prepared to sacrifice their own blood and flesh for it.
The second point is that if the Americans intend to return, why did they flee four years ago? Why were they apologizing to the countries of the region and the world at that time, and why were they begging for a way out of Afghanistan and to lighten their feet? Even if this will is correct, don’t Americans know what Afghans will do to us again? Could they have forgotten the lessons of twenty years so quickly? Their past bones are still lying in our mountains and wastelands and haven’t been buried, so how can they have the audacity to try and seize this land again.
