Al Jazeera reported that U.S. forces launched overnight strikes on key energy facilities in Iran’s Bandar Abbas, Konarak, and Bushehr regions after U.S. President Donald Trump announced the end of the ceasefire with Tehran.
The U.S. Central Command later confirmed the attacks, warning that additional strikes could follow if necessary.
Iran responded by vowing a strong retaliation against the United States. The country’s National Security Commission also warned that Tehran would consider withdrawing from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) if the attacks continue.
The latest exchange represent a significant escalation in tensions. Although the two sides had largely maintained a relative ceasefire in recent weeks, the renewed hostilities over the past two nights have pushed the conflict into a more dangerous and volatile phase.
