According to the Associated Press, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in India on Saturday, beginning a four-day official visit.

Rubio is scheduled to meet with his Indian counterpart and the Prime Minister of India during the visit. He is also expected to attend the India-Pacific Alliance summit.

Ahead of his visit to New Delhi, Rubio called India a key partner of Washington, stressing that there remains significant scope for expanded cooperation between the two countries.

The visit comes as tensions between New Delhi and Washington have increased in recent weeks over customs tariffs.
