According to reports, during a meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, between senior Ukrainian and U.S. officials, Kyiv accepted Washington’s proposal for a temporary ceasefire. Under this agreement, clashes between Ukraine and Russia would pause for 30 days, contingent on Russia’s approval.

Moscow has not yet commented on the ceasefire proposal. However, Russia’s Foreign Ministry stated that negotiations with U.S. officials could begin later this week.

The meeting, held yesterday in Jeddah, also resulted in an agreement between both sides to soon sign a deal regarding Ukraine’s mineral resources.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he will once again invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to visit the White House.
