The Urban Water Supply and Sewerage State-Owned Company has signed a cooperation agreement with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to expand water supply services and improve the water network in Mazar-e-Sharif.

Under the agreement, the ICRC will help increase the city’s water production and distribution capacity, expand the water supply network, replace aging infrastructure, strengthen staff capacity, and provide the necessary equipment and tools.

Mawlawi Ghulam Rahman Kazim, the company’s executive director, said the cooperation would strengthen the company’s technical and operational capacity and improve access to clean and safe drinking water for residents of Mazar-e-Sharif.
