According to U.S. media reports, Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has stated that the peace agreement with the Taliban in Doha was a request from then-President Donald Trump. Pompeo emphasized that Trump pushed for the deal to facilitate the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.

These remarks come at a time when Trump has repeatedly blamed President Joe Biden’s administration for the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan over the past three years.
