Security sources in Kandahar have confirmed to the Voice of Hindukush that yesterday, security forces seized 2,132 kilograms of hashish and 72 kilograms of opium in the Wali Shah Maghzi area of Spin Boldak district, near the disputed Durand Line with Pakistan.
According to sources, the smugglers attempted to move the narcotics into Afghanistan through illegal routes but were intercepted by security forces. As a result, the smugglers fled back into Pakistan, leaving behind the narcotics, which were loaded onto donkeys and subsequently seized by the security forces.
It is important to note that similar attempts to smuggle narcotics and explosives from Pakistan into Afghanistan have been prevented on several occasions in the past.
