The 10th of Hoot; A Golden Chapter in the Contemporary History of the Proud Afghan People!

The 10th of Hoot (29th of February) is one of the few days in Afghanistan’s golden and proud history when the bright sun of freedom, independence, and sovereignty shone upon the sky of this country. On this day, the great contemporary imperialism (America), after nearly two decades of exhausting and regrettable war in this proud country, signed the document of its infamous and shameful defeat with trembling hands and hastened its escape and retreat from Afghanistan. The agreement on the defeat of America and its allies and the independence and victory of Afghanistan was signed on the 10th of Hoot in the capital of Qatar, Doha, during the presidency of Donald Trump.

After the signing of this agreement, the feet of the American-made and supported puppet regime also trembled, and within a short period, the hundreds of billions of dollars that had been spent over two decades on that regime were wasted along with all its institutions, military, intelligence, civilian, and non-civilian entities. American and global invading soldiers, former Afghan officials, and other contractors fled in haste. This marked the beginning of a golden era of Afghanistan’s independence and sovereignty, and thus, it was recorded in contemporary history as the day of the third superpower’s shameful defeat in Afghanistan.

Nearly two decades ago, the United States launched a global campaign to invade Afghanistan, rallying dozens of countries to its cause and creating chaos in the country. It toppled the then Taliban government, martyred thousands of ordinary Afghans, forced millions more to flee their homeland, destroyed Afghanistan’s public infrastructure and government buildings with cruise and ballistic missiles, B-52 bombers, cluster bombs, and other munitions, and paved the way for the establishment of a notorious, foreign-backed, and puppet regime in the country. At that time, the U.S. warned the Taliban and Afghan fighters and opponents of foreign forces that it would not negotiate with them, would not accept their surrender, and would even erase them from the face of the earth.

For this purpose, they brought tens of thousands of their own and allied forces, advanced weapons, armored tanks, aircraft, heavy bombs, artillery, and other advanced military and non-military equipment to Afghanistan, and initiated a campaign of killing, displacement, imprisonment, torture, and terror against Afghans in the villages and towns of the country. They united notorious and criminal militias in Afghanistan, gave them positions, provided them with countless dollars, and equipped them with all kinds of resources, and in return, these militias did not hesitate to support the U.S. in any way. The U.S. came with the intention of permanently occupying Afghanistan, establishing a government of its choice, stationing large military bases and centers there, and doing whatever it desired in light of the country’s geographical location and value.

The days of America and its allies quickly turned around, their calculations went awry, and the course of the game changed rapidly. To the extent that America and all its allies, after using every kind of force, oppression, coercion, and deception against the Afghan fighters and the people who were passionate about their freedom and independence, reached the conclusion that this land and this homeland were not what they had calculated, so they quickly began to change their strategies, and they had no choice but to accept military defeat in this country.

In Afghanistan, the United States and its allies lost thousands of soldiers in nearly two decades of wars, thousands were permanently disabled, tens of thousands were afflicted with mental illnesses, many committed suicide, trillions of dollars were wasted, and their reputation was trampled on the international stage. Similarly, their supporters within Afghanistan also learned many lessons. Few nations and peoples in the world will witness such days in their history, but the proud Afghan people have many such days in their proud history.

This day also holds many lessons for all, the global superpowers, their internal supporters and sycophants, and for the Afghans themselves. The lesson for the superpowers is to refer to history before making any decisions regarding Afghanistan and to see the realities with open eyes. The major lesson for the internal supporters is that foreign interests are temporary, and foreigners never truly belong to anyone, so serving foreign interests for personal gain is an unforgivable betrayal that history never forgets. The lesson for the Afghans is that just as they unite and commit themselves to resist the superpowers, they must also unite to develop their free, independent, and sovereign country and not allow foreign conspiracies to take away the freedom won through blood and bones at a cheap price.
