The Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced that a joint trade meeting between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan took place in Termez, Uzbekistan. The meeting was led by Afghanistan’s Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov.
Discussions focused on Uzbekistan’s potential investments in various economic sectors in Afghanistan, including the establishment of an economic-trade complex in the industrial town of Hairatan, food production and processing, poultry farming, pharmaceuticals, cement production, construction materials, and the cultivation of pistachio orchards. Additionally, investment opportunities valued at over $200 million were discussed for processing vegetables and fruits in the provinces of Samangan, Balkh, and Kunduz.
Following the meeting, both delegations visited the designated site for the planned economic complex.
