Yesterday’s Silence and Today’s Outcry; Revealing the Hidden Corruptions

As long as power was in the hands of the opponents and the name of the republic was written on the offices of Afghanistan, all the profit-seeking and opportunistic groups were forced to keep silent to preserve their positions and empty the country’s lands of domestic investments. Each person was busy with their own work and theft, and they did not seek to expose the corruption of others, nor did they put themselves, their future, and their duties at risk.

Some people whose hearts were aching, whose consciences were awake to the realities, were weary of the regime’s corruption but lacked the strength to oppose it. They were waiting for a suitable opportunity to rise above the truth, to expose the hidden secrets of treachery, and to free their consciences from this heavy burden.

Until that opportunity arose, they either aligned themselves with the corruption, hiding their heartaches and resorting to the silence of expediency, or they merely watched the events unfold. Out of fear, they did not raise their voices and did not take off their shoes before the water.

Because there was a strong possibility that they would be killed under some pretext and trick, or their lives and their families’ lives would be threatened, and they would take the secrets of the opponents to their graves forever.

So, they took the side of prudence and set the time on a countdown, lying in wait for the right space and time.

Therefore, now that the opponents have been removed from Afghanistan and their dignity and glory have been lost, those who had many hidden grievances have found the opportunity to reveal the bitter realities of Afghan society by the opponents and destructive groups, to speak about what they were aware of or had sufficient evidence to prove, to name specific individuals, and to expose their corruption.

Because until this moment their conscience is not at ease and their sleep is disturbed; therefore, they seize the opportunity of the “now” and at least want to share their terrifying knowledge with the people and clearly explain a corner of the old history of the republic to the nation.

Additionally, many of the opponents themselves at high levels, by disrupting their unity and common interests, have clung to each other and, to appear innocent and hide their crimes, have resorted to exposing the realities of other groups.

But they do not realize that by exposing each other, they are digging their own graves, further tarnishing their dark and sinister faces.

This will make the Afghan nation more aware than ever of how many years they lived under the shadow of a corrupt and puppet government, truly under occupation. The security forces mocked the tyrannical, oppressive, and notorious groups, and their eyes burned with disdain.
