Abdul Jabbar Takhari, the Afghan Consul General in Karachi, confirmed that twelve Afghan nationals were released from various prisons in Pakistan’s Sindh province and deported to Afghanistan via the Spin Boldak border.

Takhari highlighted that, despite the Pakistani government’s announcement on expelling illegal Afghan immigrants, Afghans in Sindh have not faced any major issues.

He also noted that efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the remaining Afghan prisoners in Sindh.

In addition, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) released a report stating that over the past two weeks, 11,670 Afghan migrants have returned to Afghanistan from Pakistan.
