    Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs: 11 Major Mining Projects Approved for the Current Year

    The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs has announced the approval of 11 significant mining projects for the current year, 1403 in the Solar Hijri calendar.

    The approved projects include a cement project in the Yatim Taq area of Jowzjan, salt mine projects in Faryab’s Maimana, Jowzjan’s Darzab and Faryab’s Andkhoy, a marble stone project in the Shah Wali Kot area of Kandahar’s Darah-i-Noor, a chromite development project in Logar, a coal mining project in the Taimani Laman Valley of Badghis, gas projects in the Kushk and Tirful areas of Herat, the Tuti Midan area of Faryab, and the Loi Jungle area of Jowzjan, and a cement project in Altamur, Logar.

    Contracts for these projects have been signed with both domestic and international companies, and operations are expected to commence shortly.
