The spokesperson for the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Enayatullah Alkozai, stated in a press release that approximately 18 million SIM cards have been legally registered as part of the ongoing registration process for telecommunications company SIM cards across the country.

According to Alkozai, there are currently around 26 million SIM cards in use nationwide, of which 18 million have been registered in accordance with established procedures. He added that the registration process for the remaining SIM cards is progressing rapidly.

Alkozai further emphasized that this initiative aims to prevent the use of unregistered SIM cards, strengthen public security, and regulate telecommunications services. He noted that the ministry maintains strict and continuous oversight of the process to ensure its proper implementation.
