The armed group Jaish al-Adl, which operates against the Iranian government, has issued a written statement and video warning both foreign and domestic tourists celebrating Nowruz in Iran. The group stated that the security situation in Sistan and Baluchestan is deteriorating and urged travelers to exercise caution. It further warned that if tourists find themselves caught in clashes, they should seek assistance from Jaish al-Adl, assuring that they would not be harmed.
The statement also called on Iranian investors and tourists to refrain from investing in the coastal region known as Makran, warning that doing so would provoke a strong reaction from the group. It claimed that the area belongs to them but has been seized by Iran.
Jaish al-Adl was formed around 15 years ago in Iran’s Baluchestan province, advocating for the rights of Sunni citizens and seeking to counter what it describes as oppression against them. The group has since become an increasing challenge for the Iranian government.
