According to a press release from the Office of the Prime Minister, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, today officially launched operations at the Arghandi Transport Terminal in the Paghman district of Kabul.

The Deputy Prime Minister underscored the importance of the Arghandi Transport Terminal in the development of the country’s transportation infrastructure. He emphasized that constructing and expanding standardized transport infrastructure is essential for the nation’s economic growth, progress, and improving both domestic and regional connectivity.

Mullah Baradar further stated that investments in transportation and communication infrastructure, the recovery of illegal seized public properties, and the identification and restoration of the original boundaries of roads and routes are key national objectives of the interim government.

The transport terminal will be developed by the private sector on approximately 900 jeribs (445.6 acres) of land, with an investment of 1.285 billion Afghanis. It will encompass 42 key facilities and is expected to be completed within two years.
