Sources in Khyber informed Voice of Hindukush that unidentified gunmen opened fire on Pakistani police officer Allama Khan in the Shalobar area of Bara Tehsil, Khyber District, resulting in his death.
The source added that the police have launched a search operation in the area.
This comes amid a surge in targeted killings of security and military personnel in Pakistan, the majority of which are attributed to members of the Pakistani Taliban. The Pakistani government has struggled to curb these attacks.
