A bomb explosion targeted a police bus in the Shamsabad area of Mastung district, Balochistan, resulting in the deaths and injuries of more than twenty Pakistani police officers, according to local sources.

The explosion, caused by a planted mine, killed three officers and injured 19 others, the sources reported.

Shahid Rind, a spokesperson for the Balochistan provincial office, confirmed the fatalities and injuries, stating that three police officers were killed and 16 others were injured in the attack.

Notably, since the start of the new year, attacks on Pakistan’s military and police forces have increased significantly in both Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
