An academic-research session titled “Emerging Opportunities in Afghanistan-Kazakhstan Relations” was convened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul, organized by the Center for Strategic Studies. The event was attended by Dr. Yerkin Tokomov, head of Kazakhstan’s Institute for Strategic Studies.

Waliullah Shaheen, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, described Kazakhstan as a key player in the region. He noted that the interim government’s economy-driven foreign policy has fostered a conducive environment for enhancing trade and transit ties with neighboring countries.

Dr. Tokomov also underscored that recent developments in Afghanistan have created new avenues for bilateral cooperation. He reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness to expand collaboration with Afghanistan across a range of sectors.
