The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has announced that 2,084 carats of emeralds were sold for more than $97,000 during a public auction held in the center of Panjshir province.
According to the press release, the auction took place in the provincial conference hall and was attended by the deputy governor, the head of mines directorate, miners, national traders from various regions of the country, and media representatives.
The statement added that this process has not only facilitated the legal extraction of emeralds but has also created investment opportunities for entrepreneurs and job opportunities for local residents.
