The President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), David Hill, has pledged to resume the Bank’s cooperation in the implementation of water and energy projects in Afghanistan.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Water and Energy, the Acting Minister raised concerns during the meeting with Mr. Hill regarding the ongoing decline in water resources in Kabul and Kandahar, and called for the ADB’s support in several key initiatives. These include the Kabul–Panjshir water transfer project, the Shah Tut Lalandar reservoir dam, and the expansion of the Dahla Dam in Kandahar province.

Highlighting the importance of energy in the country, Acting Minister Mansoor also urged the Bank to increase its cooperation in Afghanistan’s energy sector.
