The National Environmental Protection Authority of Afghanistan has announced that the Nevsky International Environmental Congress, held in Saint Petersburg, Russia, concluded with the participation of representatives, experts, and officials from numerous countries, including Afghanistan.

According to the authority’s press release, the congress lasted several days and featured detailed discussions on climate change, environmental threats, natural resource management, and the expansion of renewable energy.

The Afghan delegation, led by Mawlawi Matiulhaq Khalis, Director General of the National Environmental Protection Authority, took part in the congress.

The statement emphasized that the participation of the Afghan delegation not only demonstrated Afghanistan’s commitment to addressing regional and global environmental issues, but also reflected the Interim Government’s willingness to cooperate with the international community in areas of environmental protection, climate stability, and sustainable development.

Participants at the congress described the Afghan delegation’s presence as valuable and called for joint efforts to facilitate the exchange of international assistance and experience in support of Afghanistan’s environmental initiatives.
