The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that it is closely monitoring the case involving an act of violence committed by a Belarusian citizen against an Afghan child at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport.

According to the statement, the Afghan Embassy in Moscow has been tasked with following up on the matter through all diplomatic and legal channels in the host country and reporting back to the ministry on the outcome.

The statement also noted that Hafiz Abdullah Yaser, the chief of the Afghan mission of the Afghan Embassy in Moscow, visited the injured child and, during the provision of financial assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assured the family of full support and cooperation.

Additionally, the Ministry has called on Russian federation to seriously pursue the case of the detained perpetrator and ensure that appropriate punishment is delivered.
