The Kandahar Directorate of Information and Culture reports that border police at Ahmad Shah Baba International Airport have thwarted the smuggling of 139 historical coins from Kandahar to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
According to the source, the coins belong to the Amanullah Khan and Zahir Shah eras and were being smuggled by an Afghan citizen.
The Directorate also stated that the coins will be cleaned and restored before being displayed at the Kandahar Museum.
