Sources told Voice of Hindukush that last night, the Pakistani Taliban attacked a Frontier Force post in the Shahi Kot Dera area of Bardeer District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The attack led to the post being captured, six soldiers killed, and three others injured, while the remaining personnel fled.

Sources noted that the attack was carried out in retaliation for Pakistani Taliban hostages who were killed in a staged encounter by Pakistani forces in Bardeer District several days earlier.

Following the attack, local militias pursued the Pakistani Taliban but the Taliban avoided direct combat to prevent civilian casualties.

The Pakistani Taliban released a statement emphasizing that they only target Pakistani military and security agencies. They warned militias in the Dera Bala area to stay away from the conflict, cautioning that any resulting harm would be their own responsibility.
