U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order renaming the Department of Defense as the Department of War.
Endorsing the decree, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who will henceforth be known as the “Secretary of War” said the change more clearly represents America’s military strength.
The decree further requires all federal agencies to adopt the new designation when referring to the department.
