The Ministry of National Defense announced that troops from the 205th Al-Badr Corps seized a large cache of weapons and ammunition on the Kandahar–Spin Boldak highway.

The ministry reported that the cache included M4 rifles, Kalashnikovs, grenades, pistols, 2,868 rounds of various ammunition, five binoculars, seven M4 scopes, a mine detector device, 34 magazines of various types, and 731 firearm components.

The ministry confirmed that two individuals were taken into custody over the seized cache and will be referred to judicial authorities after initial investigations are completed.

Although the ministry did not disclose the identities of those detained, it noted that former soldiers of the fallen republic have been involved in similar incidents in the past.
