Sami Yusufzai: The Taliban May Lose Power, but Will Not Surrender Land or Allow Foreign Troops

Commenting on the Bagram issue, journalist Sami Yusufzai stressed that the Taliban are not betraying their country. Although they may eventually lose power, as happened in 2001, they will neither surrender any territory nor permit foreign forces to enter under the pretext of occupation.

He also responded to Najib Azad, who this morning spread rumors that U.S. troops were reportedly heading to Bagram. Yusufzai stated, “It is evident from his background that he is neither a university professor nor holds any official position. He has fabricated his identity and is spreading baseless claims.”

Yusufzai, referring to Najib Azad, further noted that changing one’s appearance, making theatrical statements, posting on social media, working a couple of days under Ashraf Ghani administration, and then being dismissed does not qualify someone as a credible political analyst or commentator.

Najib Azad, an Afghan living in the United States who claims to be a professor at an American university, spread these unverified rumors without providing any evidence. His claims have drawn widespread criticism, with numerous prominent figures publicly denouncing them as false and misleading.
