Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, has removed Tzachi Hanegbi from his post as head of the regime’s National Security Council.

Reports suggest the dismissal came after Hanegbi opposed extending military operations in Gaza and resisted proposals to target Qatar.

The former National Security Council chief had previously admitted the Israeli military’s failure in the October 7 Hamas attack and urged a full investigation into the incident of that day.
