A New Chapter in the Relationship between Pakistan and the Resistance Front

Relations between Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the military regime, and the Resistance Front have entered a new chapter. Both sides previously tried to keep these relations secret or at least hidden from the media, fearing that if they were not cautious about the friendship between the two sides, many scandals would arise and judgments about both would change in the world. They managed to keep these relations secret to some extent, but they could not prevent the scandals.

The recent direct conflicts and tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan have exposed all of this, removing the masks of deceit and deception from many faces and figures, revealing their true and hidden dealings and relationships, to the point where they had nothing left to hide, so they resorted to openly supporting each other. After Pakistan violated Afghanistan’s airspace and bombed innocent people, Afghanistan responded decisively, but only targeted Pakistani soldiers. This led to clashes between the two sides that lasted for several days.

Afghans stood with their army against Pakistan, regardless of linguistic, ethnic, sectarian, or other issues. However, the Resistance Front based abroad, its supporters, and members shamelessly stood with the Pakistani army and took up arms against Afghanistan. They were clearly seeking justifications for the Pakistani military regime’s attack and trying to delegitimize Afghanistan’s response. So, they launched propaganda in favor of Pakistan thru social media and media-named propaganda outlets based abroad, published Pakistani military statements, and became the drivers of the Pakistani military regime’s propaganda war.

The relationship between Resistance Front and the Pakistani military regime is not new; it has been inherited from their early leaders, particularly Ahmad Shah Massoud and Burhanuddin Rabbani, who maintained a warm relationship even during the fallen republic. It is noteworthy that at that time, they accused those movements of Pakistani slavery, who were seeking real independence in Afghanistan and fighting for it in this way. The presence of Resistance Front members in high-ranking government positions in the fallen republic provided an opportunity for Pakistani agents to hold positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Security Directorate, and other important government institutions, and to obtain all kinds of information from the government apparatus.

These high-ranking officials of the Resistance Front would make statements against Pakistan on stage to mislead the public, but later, they would be special guests at the Pakistani embassy under various pretexts. This series continued until the last day of the collapsed republic. Now that they have raised the so-called resistance voice abroad, they have returned to renew their old friendship in order to carry out their proxy mission of threatening the security of Afghanistan, the region, and the world.
