Axios reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed the possibility of a new strike on Iran in 2026 during a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Both leaders called last June’s 12-day conflict “successful,” but Netanyahu said further strikes may be needed to stop Iran from restoring its military and nuclear capabilities.
The U.S. and Israel are reportedly alarmed by Iran’s efforts to rebuild its ballistic missile and nuclear facilities, though no clear timetable or red lines have been established for potential future military action.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that any act of aggression would be met with a “decisive response” and urged that negotiations proceed on the basis of mutual respect.
