Reuters news agency has reported that at least 40 people were killed and over 100 injured due to an explosion and fire in a bar in the Swiss town of Crans-Montana.
The incident occurred during New Year celebrations.
Police stated that the explosion was caused by technical issues and failure to comply with fire safety regulations.
Meanwhile, the Italian government confirmed that some of its citizens were among the victims.
