Authorities in Khost have arrested three individuals in connection with the killing of a former intelligence officer named Javed.

The spokesperson for the Khost Governor’s Office, Mustaghfir Gurbaz, stated that the intelligence directorate’s forces recovered Javed’s body.

He had previously served in a Quick Reaction unit within the intelligence directorate under fallen republic. About eight months ago, he was mysteriously killed by his maternal uncles and cousins, and his body was carefully buried in the courtyard of his home.

Gurbaz added that, with local residents and public health officials present, the body was recovered and handed over to the family. The three suspects are currently under investigation and are set to be referred to judicial authorities once the initial investigations are completed.
