The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs says that next Sunday, which coincides with the 26th of Dalwa, will be a nationwide public holiday marking the 37th anniversary of the defeat of the Soviet Union.

The ministry stated that this day is officially recognized as a public holiday in the Afghan government’s official calendar.

It is worth noting that 37 years ago, on the 26th of Dalwa, Soviet Union forces were defeated by the Afghan Mujahideen and withdrew from Afghanistan.
