    Passenger Boat Sinks in Nile River, Leaving 21 Dead

    The Sudan Doctors Network reported that at least 21 people were killed after a passenger boat sank in the Nile River.

    According to the network, the vessel was carrying 27 passengers, including women and children, when it overturned while traveling between the areas of Tiba Al-Khawad and Deim Al-Qarai near the city of Shendi.

    The organization, which monitors the humanitarian and human rights situation in Sudan amid the ongoing conflict, stated rescue efforts remain underway to locate and assist the remaining passengers.
