The Prime Minister of the Afghan government, Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund, held a telephone conversation with Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Dato’ Mohammad Anwar Ibrahim, discussing the regional situation, particularly Pakistan’s military aggression against Afghanistan.

The central spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, said that Mr. Akhund stated that the use of force and targeting civilians cannot resolve problems.

He added that the Afghan government’s principled position is clear that it believes in resolving issues through understanding and negotiations, but in the event of aggression, it considers defending its territory and people a legitimate right.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Malaysia emphasized resolving the recent tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan through dialogue and said that his country is trying to play a practical role in facilitating understanding between both sides.
