The Treachery and Ignominy of the Afghan Government’s Opponents in the Face of Aggression

The recent bombings of Afghanistan’s soil by the Pakistani military regime were not just a military aggression, but a blatant attack on the pride and sovereignty of the Afghan nation. While the brave forces of the country gave an initial response to these aggressions by targeting the enemy’s important supply and military center in Kohat and Islamabad, the dark faces of those who still consider themselves political leaders of Afghanistan have been revealed in the political arena. At this moment, Afghans must recognize two groups: one that openly supports the enemy’s aggression and the other that, under the guise of pragmatism, has chosen cowardice and silence.

The first group, led by Ahmad Massoud, consists of the unruly members and supporters of the so-called Resistance Front who expressed joy over the bloodshed of their innocent compatriots. They not only failed to condemn the Pakistani aggression but shamelessly praised the enemy’s bombardment. This group has proven that their claims, efforts, and propaganda are aimed at the destruction of the country. What logic accepts that a Muslim Afghan should support an aggression whose victims are the children and mothers of the country? This is such a shameful stance that it brands this group with the mark of treason against the homeland.

The second group of warlords are those who have formed alliances under the names of the Resistance Council and other various major names in foreign countries, holding meetings in foreign intelligence centers, and have remained silent in the face of Pakistan’s aggression. Their silence, although not as openly praised as that of Ahmad Massoud’s supporters, is more dangerous. While the country’s territorial integrity is being violated, the silence of such warlords means a green light for the aggressor. This deep silence under the guise of pragmatism shows that these coalitions are only thirsty for power and that the national interests of the country hold no value for them compared to the foreign concessions they receive in exchange for their silence.

These so-called political alliances should be told that your political opposition was declared against the current government, not against the land and the people; so why have you remained silent in the face of the foreign enemy’s aggression under the pretext of political opposition!? In reality, these coalitions are aligned with the enemy’s agenda. When they call themselves representatives of the Afghan people, why have they turned a blind eye to the cries of the bombing victims? Their shamelessness under the guise of pragmatism proves that they only speak on behalf of those who bear the costs of living and indulgence. The biggest proof of the falsity of their claims is their failure to condemn Pakistan’s aggression.

The Afghan people must understand that the true defenders of the country are those who took a stand against the enemy in Kohat, not those who sit in London, Paris, and other capitals, indifferent to the country’s suffering or silent about it. The open betrayal of the supporters of the Resistance Front and the opportunistic shamelessness of the coalitions are two sides of the same coin. History will judge who shielded Afghanistan when it was under enemy attack and who watched the destruction of their nation in the embrace of foreigners.
