Iran Bil-Arabiya reported that Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr has been appointed as the new head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council following the killing of Ali Larijani.
Zolqadr is considered a close associate of Larijani and one of the senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), having held key positions in military, judicial, and security sectors.
He has served as Deputy Commander of the IRGC, Chief of Staff of the force, and commander of the “Ramadhan” headquarters.
In addition to his military roles, he has also served as Deputy for Strategic Affairs and Crime Prevention in Iran’s Judiciary, Security Deputy at the Ministry of Interior, and head of Basij affairs within the Armed Forces General Staff.
