The Prime Minister of the Afghan government, Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund, held a telephone conversation with Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Dato’ Mohammad Anwar Ibrahim, discussing regional developments and the recent situation between the Pakistani military regime and Afghanistan.
According to the Islamic Emirate’s spokesperson, Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, Mr. Akhund expressed concern over the rising tensions in the region following the aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran. He stated that Afghanistan believes in resolving issues through mutual understanding and cooperation.
Referring to the suspension of the “Radd al-Zulm” defensive operations during the recent Eid al-Fitr, he added that actions which could escalate tensions should be avoided.
Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund stated that “wisdom and rationality” should be employed to resolve problems.
Meanwhile, Malaysia’s Prime Minister also expressed concern over the regional situation and voiced hope that the temporary ceasefire between Afghanistan and Pakistan would continue.
He added that his country is making efforts to play a positive role in this regard through mutual understanding with both sides.
