Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works, said the Salang Highway remains closed due to continuous snowfall, storms, and repeated avalanches, while the Kabul–Jalalabad Highway is blocked by ongoing landslides.

He further noted that the Kabul–Kandahar Highway, which had been closed last night near Fouladgi Manda in Zabul province’s Shahr-e-Safa district due to heavy rains and flash floods, has now been reopened by the Ministry’s operational teams in collaboration with local authorities.

Haqshenas urged citizens to avoid traveling toward closed roads and to wait for official updates from the Ministry before traveling.
