Mawlawi Saif-ul-Islam Khyber, spokesperson for the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice and the Hearing of Complaints, said that officials in Kabul’s Surobi district arrested a man who claimed he could communicate with jinns through a mobile phone.

Khyber stated that the man claimed the jinns could understand him and were in direct contact with him through his mobile phone.

He stressed that such claims are considered superstitious under Islamic law and affirmed that the ministry is treating the matter seriously, allowing no one to engage in such practices.
