Reports indicate that Pakistan’s military regime, taking advantage of the negotiations between Tehran and Washington, has deployed 13,000 troops and between 12 to 18 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia.
Observers of South Asian affairs have stated that Pakistan’s military regime may deploy at least 50,000 troops in Saudi Arabia along with additional fighter jets.
Pakistani and Saudi sources have described this deployment as part of a strategic defense pact signed between the two countries last year.
Earlier, some sources suggested that Islamabad, as an ally of Riyadh, may be compelled to participate in a potential future conflict between Tehran and Washington.
During the recent 39-day conflict between Iran and the United States, Iran targeted infrastructure and airbases in Saudi Arabia; however, at that time, Pakistan did not confirm its involvement in countering Iranian attacks.
Analysts believe that tensions in the Middle East remain high, and if the United States launches new attacks on Iran, Tehran may once again target American bases in Saudi Arabia, which could lead to Pakistan’s military regime becoming directly involved in the war in support of the United States.
