The Ministry of Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice and Hearing of Complaints has stated that its moral enforcers have restored the Sharia-based rights of 13 women in Maidan Wardak, Nimroz, Kunduz, Takhar, Faryab, and Helmand provinces.
According to the ministry, the women had long been subjected to various forms of mistreatment stemming from harmful traditional practices, which led to the violation of their rights.
The ministry stressed that its provincial officials continue to hold regular reform-oriented meetings with local communities to safeguard women’s rights and enhance public awareness in this regard. It added that these efforts have resulted in noticeable improvements in the situation.
