Deputy foreign minister of Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement, Hussein al-Azzi, has warned that if the group moves to close the Bab al-Mandab Strait, no power in the world including both humans and jinns would be able to reopen it.
Al-Azzi also urged U.S. President Donald Trump and the broader international community to immediately halt all actions and policies he says are obstructing efforts toward peace.
He added that Israel and the United States should respect the rights of the Yemeni people as well as those of the wider Islamic Ummah.
Earlier, Houthi officials had also threatened to close the Bab al-Mandab Strait in response to U.S. and Israeli strikes on Yemen, Iran, and other Muslim countries.
