CBS News reported that at least seven individuals have been killed and several others injured in a shooting attack in Paterson, New Jersey.

According to the report, the attack took place at around 9:00 p.m. local time at the intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Godwin Avenue.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact number of casualties. Police have cordoned off the area and recovered multiple bullet casings and other evidence from the scene.

Footage circulating on social media shows at least two injured individuals lying on the road, while police can be seen detaining a man who is shouting, “Hey, help my brother.”

It is worth noting that 137 shooting attacks were recorded in the United States last year, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries.
