The Ministry of Interior Affairs announced that counterterrorism forces of Paktia Police Command seized 28 pistols and 900 rounds of ammunition.
According to the ministry, the weapons and ammunition had been smuggled into Afghanistan from abroad and were seized during targeted operations carried out in Dand Patan District of Paktia Province.
The ministry added that the weapons smugglers fled the area, and police efforts to arrest them are ongoing.
