The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs announced that Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar held talks in Kabul with Serik Zhumangarin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan.
According to the office, Mullah Baradar noted the importance of high-level exchanges between the two countries in strengthening and expanding economic cooperation. The Kazakh side stated that it is prepared to provide transport subsidies for the shipment of Kazakh flour to Herat.
Both sides also discussed plans to establish a Kazakh pharmaceutical sales office and a chamber of commerce in Kabul.
Zhumangarin said Kazakhstan is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in the mining sector, chemical fertilizer production, and the Mazar-e-Sharif–Herat–Kandahar–Spin Boldak railway project.
