Zakir Jalali, the second director of political affairs at Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the Afghan delegation’s current visit to Brussels marks an important step toward strengthening relations between Afghanistan and the European Union.
In a post on X, Jalali, who is part of the delegation, said the visit is the first by an official delegation of the Islamic Emirate to Brussels.
He said the visit is expected to help expand practical and long-term engagement between Afghanistan and the European Union based on mutual respect and shared interests.
Jalali added that the visit could also pave the way for improved consular and other related services for Afghans living in Europe.
